Malema hearing to resume on September 11 - ANC NDC

Argument on one charge of misconduct against ANCYL leaders will be heard on same day

ANCYL HEARING NOW SET FOR 11 SEPTEMBER 2011

On Friday, 2 September 2011, the African National Congress (ANC) National Disciplinary Committee (NDC) heard the evidence in the single charge of misconduct against ANC Youth League leaders - comrades Julius Malema, Kenetswe Mosenogi, Pule Mabe, Sindiso Magaqa and Ronald Lamola. Argument will be heard on 11 September 2011 and a finding handed down in due course.

The disciplinary hearing of comrade Julius Malema will also resume on Sunday, 11 September 2011. Three days have been set aside for the completion of this hearing.

The postponement was as a result of the availability of parties to the hearing. If time permits, the disciplinary hearing of comrade Sindiso Magaqa - secretary general of the ANC Youth League, who faces a single charge of misconduct - will be finalised in that period.

A date is still to be set for the disciplinary hearing of comrade Floyd Shivambu.

Statement issued by Derek Hanekom, Chairperson, ANC National Disciplinary Committee, September 3 2011
