DA takes Malema Indian race issue to Parliament
29 October 2015
The Democratic Alliance has brought forth the issue of racial division being sown by EFF leader, Julius Malema, amongst Indians to the attention of the National Assembly in a sitting of the House on 27 October 2015.
The DA raised the issue in the form of a Members Statement in the National Assembly, condemning the statements made by Malema with respect to Judge Shyam Gyanda who was interviewed for the vacant Deputy Judge President position. The EFF, with Malema as its leader, have repeatedly flaunted the race card as its veiled manifesto to divide a country that has suffered enough from past divisions.
The Democratic Alliance will not allow elected Members of Parliament like Julius Malema to openly attack South African Indian’s without consequence and it was for this reason this matter has been raised in Parliament.
