FF PLUS CONDEMNS JULIUS MALEMA COMMENTS

"Julius Malema has in his own words finally quashed the myth that farm attacks are merely ordinary crime with robbery as motif. According to media reports (Beeld 30 April 2011), Malema said that if farmers share the majority of their land with the poor, they have no reason to fear criminals or farm attacks. With this Malema acknowledged that farm attacks and farm murders cannot be viewed as mere criminal acts," Mr. Werner Weber, chief spokesperson on land affairs and rural development for the Freedom Front Plus, said.

Malema made these comments as main speaker at an event which the ANC's professional forum had hosted at the Crystal Towers Hotel in Cape Town . "This is straight from the horse's mouth. The SAPS' continual standard stance that ‘robbery was the motive' following a farm attack, has to stop now," Mr. Weber added.

The ‘Action Stop Farm Attacks' of which Weber had been the chairperson, had already in 2002 found that farm attacks were committed to intimidate farmers to give their land to black people or to share it with black people.
