Mashaba, Makhura agree to put differences aside

Johannesburg - Gauteng Premier David Makhura and Johannesburg mayor Herman Mashaba have agreed to put their political differences aside and put residents first.
This was agreed at a meeting they held on Wednesday, the city said in a statement on Thursday.
Last month, the DA's Mashaba scrapped a three-year R70m project to build bicycle lanes around the city which his predecessor, ANC mayor Parks Tau, had initiated.
Mashaba said the project would only be resumed once all roads around the city had been upgraded.
