McBride back at work, and is 'stabilising' Ipid
19 October 2016
Pretoria - The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid) has confirmed that its head, Robert McBride, was back at work on Wednesday morning.
"I can confirm that he is back at work today and is meeting with management at Ipid," spokesperson Moses Dlamini told News24.
Dlamini, who appears to have returned to his old position, refused to divulge reasons around his reinstatement but an initial call to acting spokesperson Robbie Raburabu seemed to suggest that decisions made at the police watchdog since McBride's suspension had all been reversed.
McBride returned to work following a decision by the police committee not to institute disciplinary action against him.
