MKMVA Limpopo distances itself from Sowetan report

Godfrey T. Netshanzhe calls on regions to refrain from making statements to media

Statement of the MKMVA Limpopo on ANC Limpopo Leadership

MKMVA Limpopo wishes to clarify without any ambiguity our position on media reports pronouncing on leadership nominations pertaining to the forth-coming 7th ANC Limpopo Conference (see Sowetan article).

We unconditionally distance ourselves from the Sowetan article dated 9 November 2011 and any other similar reports that may be making the rounds in the media in general on this issue.

Our organisation's tradition is that MKMVA formulates official statements stemming out of discussions held in a constitutionally arranged and organised meeting of legitimate MKMVA structures. Any decisions arising from such deliberations are then channelled formally through mandated ANC structures.

When the need arises, MKMVA Limpopo will, through our official meetings, discuss the forth-coming ANC Conference, draw resolutions from those talks and subsequently make an official announcement.

We urge all our regions to refrain from making statements to the media without proper consultation with the MKMVA leadership and without following proper channels.

Statement issued by Mkhonto Wesizwe Military Veterans Association Limpopo Secretary, Cde. Godfrey T. Netshanzhe, November 9 2011
