Moeketsi Mosola joins Agang SA as Political Director

Moeketsi Mosola has joined the leadership team of Agang SA as Political Director to lead the formation of the party's political leadership team at national, provincial and regional levels.

Before joining Agang SA, Mosola spent eight years at South African Tourism, three years as COO and then five years as acting CEO of Brand SA. Prior to that he was the chief director of tourism development with the Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism (D.E.A.T.).

Mosola has held several senior appointments in provincial and national government and was responsible for marketing key trans-frontier investment opportunities such as the Lubombo Spatial Development Initiative and the GKG (Gaza-Kruger Gonaezhou) tourism and biodiversity corridor.

Mosola joined JSE-listed diversified industrial holdings company Imperial Holdings in August 2009 as CEO of the group's tourism division.

"It is my time to serve the most vulnerable members of our society, the people that have sacrificed so much for me to enjoy my freedom; together we will restore the promise of our great nation," said Mosola.

"Leadership is about service, accountability, and a commitment to do what is right for future generations of our country, not short-term gain," said Dr Mamphela Ramphele, leader of Agang SA. "Moeketsi understands the potential that South Africa has, given his roles in promoting this beautiful nation. We have also talked about the shortcomings, the failures and what we need to do to restore the promise of freedom for our country."

At the Agang SA party launch in Pretoria, Mosola led party members in confirming a declaration giving a mandate to Agang SA's interim leadership team to develop the policies and build the structures needed to fight the 2014 election.

Agang SA has already put in place the first three provincial organisers, Pule Pule for Gauteng, Sam Njela for the Eastern Cape and Lawrence Moroasui for Limpopo.

At a ward, regional and provincial level, Agang SA is creating campaign committees to deliver the party's election campaign and represent the members of the party. This will allow time to design permanent structures and hold transparent elections in the formation of branches after the 2014 elections.
