Victory for ActionSA as motion of insourcing of security personnel passes in eThekwini

Victory for ActionSA as motion of insourcing of security personnel passes in eThekwini metro

15 August 2023

ActionSA welcomes the victory of the motion that we had tabled to the Speaker for the insourcing of security personnel at the eThekwini Metro Municipality that just concluded, gaining overwhelming support from opposition parties during the council meeting.

We express great gratitude to the African National Congress (ANC), the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP), the Economic Freedom Party (EFF), and many other opposition parties for doing the right thing and heeding our call to support this motion.

ActionSA has always maintained its stance regarding the insourcing of security personnel and cleaners, and with the discussions of the amendments of the motion during the council meeting recommending that cleaners also be included in insourcing in eThekwini Council, we express our satisfaction.

We have previously maintained that we will table the discussions of insourcing across all government departments during the coalition discussions prior to the 2024 elections, and with this victory, the future is promising for our people.

This is a clear demonstration not only to us but also to the public, that ActionSA will not tire in our efforts to ensure that we bring much-needed change to people’s lives, who have fallen victim to exploitation.
