The African National Congress Youth League met with Nandos Company on Thursday, the 23rd of April 2009 concerning the advertisement we said should be withdrawn with immediate effect. The ANC YL expressed our concern over the advertisement and requested Nandos to promptly withdraw the adverts in all Television and radio channels. The ANC YL and Nandos have agreed that the advertisements should be withdrawn within 24 hours in all the television and radio channels they were aired.
Nandos will continue to properly advertise their products in a suitable manner, and disassociate the ANC YL and its President Julius Malema from their advertisements. The ANC YL strongly believes in freedom of expression and creativity which respects other people and organisations.
