NDP Review Report Embarrassingly Exposes How SA has Missed Most Targets - Highlights Urgent Need for Change

27 September 2023

The National Development Plan (NDP) Review Report - which shows that the government has failed to address most of its targets to deal with unemployment, poverty, and inequality - highlights the urgent need for political change in South Africa.

Despite last-minute attempts to block the release, the report is an embarrassing testament to the ruling party as it affirms that, despite many years in government, it has simply been unable to improve the lives of our people.

That is why ActionSA believes the report - which shows that on many indicators South Africa is heading in the wrong direction - highlights how urgent change is necessary to turn around the current decline.

It is through the recent policies that ActionSA adopted at our inaugural policy conference that good governance will be restored in South Africa, economic and job growth will be ignited, and the lives of all people living in the country will be improved.

No country can survive in an environment where most of its people go jobless or lack access to opportunity, which the ruling party has unfortunately perpetuated in recent years. ActionSA is committed to turning around this decay.

For too long our people have been let down by the ruling party, as confirmed by the NDP review report.

As we prepare for the important 2024 elections, ActionSA will go to all communities across the country, door to door, to share the difference an ActionSA government will make. Change in South Africa is possible, and ActionSA is committed to ushering through that change.
