Limpopo Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) Officially Endorsed by African National Congress (ANC) Leadership
The ANC in Limpopo welcomes the decision of the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the weekend of 18 May 2012 in which the Limpopo conference outcome was upheld.
This comes after complaints were raised by some conference delegates who objected to election outcomes and advanced allegations, after conference elections, that the conference was rigged. In response, the NEC appointed a task team led by Cde. Jeff Radebe, Minister of Justice to investigate the veracity of those allegations. The team visited the Province and held broad consultative meetings with those affected and all relevant stakeholders.
After this investigation the task team reported back to the NEC that there were no serious transgressions to warrant the nature of complaints raised.
The period between the conference and the present announcement of the NEC has been characterised by people misleading the public both in Limpopo and the entire Republic about the leadership of the province. Their main campaign was driven towards their ambitions of realising the desolation of the PEC. On the basis of this wishful thinking on their part, some even launched themselves as MDM and Planned to undermine the leadership in the Province.
With this decision of the NEC now made public, we hope the matter has been satisfactorily laid to rest. This vindicates our earlier assertion from the beginning that there was nothing deviant at the conference.
