NADEL welcomes new leadership in the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Development, extends gratitude to the outgoing officials

The National Association of Democratic Lawyers (NADEL) is pleased to extend its congratulations to Minister Thembi Nkadimeng and Deputy Minister Andries Nel on their recent appointments as the Minister and Deputy Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development, respectively.

NADEL stands firm in its commitment to support the Ministry in driving the transformative agenda of the legal profession in our country. Together, we can address the challenges within our legal system and work towards meaningful reforms that benefit all members of society: Upholding human rights, ensuring justice, and reinforcing the rule of law will remain at the forefront of our efforts. NADEL believes that their leadership will play a pivotal role in steering the legal profession towards greater heights and innovation.

The President of NADEL, Mr Mvuzo Notyesi, stated that “we recognize the importance of creating an equitable, efficient, and just legal system that serves the interests of all citizens with the highest standards of integrity and professionalism and we warmly welcome Minister Nkadimeng and Deputy Minister Nel to their esteemed positions. We are eager to collaborate closely with both leaders to advance our shared goal of a transformed and more equitable legal system.

NADEL takes this opportunity to express our deep gratitude to the outgoing Minister Ronald Lamola and the outgoing Deputy Minister John Jeffreys. Their contributions have shaped the legal landscape during their tenure and their dedicated service has laid a solid foundation for continued progress and reform.

Mr Notyesi reaffirmed that “NADEL extends its best wishes to both of outgoing officials as they embark on new endeavours and hope they continue to inspire positive change in their future careers and new capacities in which they serve”.
