ANC YOUTH LEAGUE CONDEMNS THE INTIMIDATION AND HARASSMENT OF ANC YOUTH LEAGUE MEMBERS AND LEADERS BY UN-MARKED PEOPLE CALLING THEMSELVES NATIONAL INTELLIGENCE:
It has come to the attention of the National Leadership of the ANC Youth League that there are people with no form of identification who call themselves National Intelligence and visit members and leaders of the ANC Youth League in Provinces. We understand that these people visit during early hours of the morning to interrogate ANC YL members and leaders about supporters of the ANC who gathered to support the charged leadership in Johannesburg over the past few weeks.
The ANC Youth League condemns this kind of intimidation and harassment by these unmarked people, because we do not know what their real intentions are and whether they are legitimate officers of the South African State.
The ANC Youth League has unequivocally condemned the violence that took place in Johannesburg on Tuesday the 30th of August and expressed utter disappointment and disgust at people who burned t-shirts of the ANC bearing the face of President Jacob Zuma.
The ANC Youth League leadership also spoke to the people who gathered in Johannesburg that they must never agree to be infiltrated by agent provocateurs because their genuine support might be confused with ill-disciplined elements amongst them. So for these unmarked people to interrogate and intimidate members and leaders of the ANC Youth League is totally misplaced, uncalled for and unacceptable.
The ANC Youth League will soon approach relevant authorities to register our concern over intimidation and unwarranted interrogation of our members by unmarked people who call themselves National Intelligence. As fighters for economic freedom in our lifetime, we understand the close relationship between discipline and execution of a successful revolution and we will not falter, because such donates us to the hands of the enemy.
