"No time to mourn!" - Daily Sun

"Kelly says: I have to get on with my life... for my kids, fans and Senzo" - front page leader, November 26 2014

Daily Sun (November 26 2014) - I DON'T have time to slow down! Kelly Khumalo made it clear she saw nothing wrong with launching her new album just one month after Senzo's death.

"I WILL CARRY ON. I OWE IT TO MY CHILDREN AND MY FANS," SHE SAID.

Kelly told the media she had a responsibility towards her two children and fans who had supported her since 2005.

This was after she was asked why she was not taking time off from the music industry to mourn the death of her slain boyfriend, soccer player Senzo Meyiwa.

"I am a working woman and I have responsibilities," she said.

"The people are waiting for me to be out there, singing and performing. I have gone through hard times before and I have dusted myself off and continued working. What makes this different from anything else I have been through?"

Kelly was at Universal Studios in  Rosebank, Joburg to promote her latest album, Back To My Roots. She was accompanied by legendary producer Chicco Twala and Eugene Mthethwa, who both worked with her on the album.

She said she found strength to continue with her career through God.

"I am not on the stage to talk about the horrible details. I am not emotionally ready to talk about anything like that.

"I am an artist first and that comes before my personal life. Give me time until I am strong enough to talk when I am ready," she said.

The day after Senzo was shot in her house, Kelly shocked some people when she was seen driving Senzo's X6 BMW.
