EFF (Gauteng) Memorandum of Demands: No to E-Tolls!

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), the vanguard of the South African protest movement, comes here today to speak in the name of the majority of Gauteng citizens and indeed the whole of South Africa. Whilst it is not surprising that the ANC government has closed its ears and heart to millions of our people who have taken to the streets, including the labour movement, the unemployed, the youth, the hawkers, the professionals, the taxi owners to voice their disapproval of the e-tolls, still we must act against injustice.

The millions of our people in the country have also expressed their disapproval in radio talk shows, in newspaper articles, in memoranda and in pleading for the understanding of those who rule us not to go ahead with the double taxation which is what the E-Tolls are.

Our people have lodged legal challenges with the courts at great costs. Our people have given evidence and convincing arguments as to why the E-tolls are bad for our province and nation. All these have fallen on deaf ears. The ANC government has thus taken after the Pharaoh of biblical Egypt who refused to listen to a just demand to end slavery despite the floods, the fires, the plagues and many other sufferings his people faced. Like Pharaoh, the heart of the ANC government is the heart of stone, only prepared to be melted by money and personal enrichment.

We, as the Economic Freedom Fighters in Gauteng are here to remind this deaf government that you cannot win against the people! We are here to declare that stand with the millions of the citizens of this province who say NO TO THE E-TOLLS! We are here to declare our disapproval of your arrogant, undemocratic, disregard of the will of the people. We are here to add our militant voice in show of disgust of your oppressive and corrupt ways. We are here to declare you as a government unto itself, and expose the lie that you rule in the interest of the people. You are Pharaohs who want to turn us into slaves in a huge slave plantation, where our people pay to be slaves.

Today we start a new journey to make your undemocratic e-tolls not work. We declare that we DO NOT RECOGNISE THE E-TOLLS LAW because it is an unjust law; a law unto itself! It is law made to rob people, submit them into paying for the costs of personal gains of those in government. Laws must make the lives of people better, they are meant to protect, enhance and improve the lives of the people, not rob them. We are here to say we are Africans, who belong in Africa; the Africa of Malawi, of Kenya, of Ghana, of Nigeria and have no desire to be like Europe.

We are here to tell you that Europe is no continent to emulate. It is built on slavery, colonisation and exploitation. It is a murderous continent that has plunged the world into two world wars and committed the much genocide against black people in Africa, Australia, America and bastardised Asians and Arabs everywhere. Europe is a continent with a cold soul, drained of the human spirit.

We are Africa, we are Africans and we love our Africa, thus will never accept you insulting us and our humanity in the name of forcing us to accept your unjust e-Tolls.

We therefore CALL on our people, the people of South Africa of Africa not to BUY your E-TAGS. We say; we don't owe and we won't pay! We SAY a government that robs its own PEOPLE is not fit to govern!

We give you a notice, as government that we shall embark on both civil disobedience and direction action to render your E-tolls dysfunctional! WE DEMAND that government announces within two weeks that people are free from the anti-African E-Tolls slavery. If you do not, we will take Nelson Manela's mandate into action and do to the ANC government, what we did to the National Party government of Apartheid.
