MARIO ORIANI-AMBROSINI'S MEDICAL HARSHIP
23 May 2013
The Office of the ANC Chief Whip is shocked by the news of IFP Member of Parliament Mario Oriani-Ambrosini's diagnosis with cancer - which medical experts have found to be terminal and inoperable. As a result of his sudden poor health, which he confirmed in the media statement earlier this week, Oriani-Ambrosini has been absent from Parliament as he battles with the condition.
We are encouraged by his resolve to prevail over this disease and rejoin Parliament to continue with his passion of serving the people. We indeed share his confidence and optimism that he will conquer this medical hardship. Oriani-Ambrosini is one of the hardest working legislators, a shrewd debater and an accomplished legal mind - which makes his absence from this institution even more conspicuous.
We wish him immense strength and success as he fights this terminal condition. Our prayers and support are with him, his family, friends and colleagues in the IFP during this testing time.
