Our new logo for the 2014 elections - AgangSA

Party says that swirling circle denotes a movement around a common cause

AgangSA launches new 2014 campaign logo

Mamphela Ramphele's AgangSA party today launched a new logo, defining the cause it is contesting in the 2014 elections.

The new logo comprises a swirling multi-coloured circle underwritten by the pay-off line: "Restoring the Promise of Freedom."

Kick starting country-wide celebrations that will roll-out across the party's fast growing structures over the coming weeks, the new brand went live overnight on agangsa.org.za as well as the party's Facebook, MXit and Twitter pages.

"The rationale behind the pay-off line is that citizens have waited too long to have their basic human rights, as enshrined in the constitution, delivered," says Dr Ramphele.

"AgangSA will restore the promise of freedom so many fought for in the struggle against Apartheid. We stand for jobs, good healthcare and safe streets - a promise that has become empty under the current ANC government. Our citizens deserve clean government to restore their hope of achieving dignity and equality."

The swirling circle denotes a movement around a common cause, while the colours in 11 segments denote the 11 official languages of South Africa. It invokes a call for all segments of South Africa to engage with AgangSA and work together to build a better South Africa, according to the party. Agang, in SeSotho, means build.

AgangSA has chosen the colour of green to represent itself, conjouring up the image of new growth and a party that understands that we need a healthy environment in order for a healthy economy and citizenry to flourish.

The introduction of the new logo comes at a time when AgangSA is entering a new phase in its campaign to make a positive impact on South African politics. AgangSA launched as a political party in June.

"We call on all citizens to register to vote this weekend," Dr Ramphele said. "AgangSA offers hope for a better South Africa, and every vote counts."
