AfriForum makes Manase Report available to public

AfriForum received the full Manase Report from the Department of Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CoGTA) on 23 July 2013 and has decided to make it available on their website as its content is in the public interest. The Manase Report reveals corruption by the ANC within the eThekwini Municipality. It took continuous pressure from civil rights organisations such as AfriForum and opposition parties to get the ANC to release the damning report. The 7 051 page report can be downloaded here - PDF.

"AfriForum has appointed an expert on local governance to work through the Manase Report and advise the organisation on the appropriate remedies," said Chris Fourie, Chairperson of the Durban Highway branch of AfriForum

"AfriForum will be in the Pietermaritzburg High Court on 23 October 2013 seeking an order to get access to the records pertaining to the forensic investigation report in connection with eThekwini Municipality, by Ngubane & Company, known as the Ngubane Report. This report preceded the Manase Report," Fourie concluded.
