RE: SACP IN KZN CALS FOR THE BOYCOTT OF THE FISH AND CHIPS COMPANY
The South African Communist Party in the Moses Mabhida Province (KZN) has called for the boycott of the Fish and Chips Company following the franchise's blatant disrespect to the Office of the President and the people of South Africa.
This follows a controversial advert, which was canned by the public broadcaster, poking fun at the size of the President Jacob Zuma's family and insinuating that the family is fed by the taxpayer.
"This goes to show at what length some people can go to undermine the Office of the President and black people in general. Any proud South African should boycott food which is marketed through disgusting marketing gimmicks that seek to undermine the very same people it is seeking to attract," said SACP Moses Mabhida Provincial Secretary Themba Mthembu.
The SACP in the Moses Mabhida Province commends the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) for being sensitive enough not to parade the President's family in a manner which was advanced by the Fish and Chips company advert.
