SACTWU congress elects new leadership

The newly elected executive will serve a term of three years

The 11th National Congress of the Southern African Clothing & Textile Workers' Union (SACTWU) has elected the union's new national leadership. They will hold office for the next three years, until the next National Congress.

Voting was completed on Friday evening, and the results were announced on Saturday afternoon, 25 September 2010. The positions of President, 1st Deputy President, 2nd Deputy President, National Treasurer, General Secretary and 1st National Organising Secretary were uncontested. The positions of Deputy General Secretary and 2nd National Organising Secretary were contested. The newly elected and re-elected National Office Bearers and National Secretariat members are as follows:

1st Deputy President:                               Cornelius Kodisang

2nd Deputy President:                              Beauty Zibula

National Treasurer:                                  Freda Oosthuysen

General Secretary:                                   Andre Kriel

Deputy General Secretary:                        Wayne van der Rheede

1st National Organising Secretary:             Chris Gina

2nd National Organising Secretary:            Bonita Loubser
