SADTU Free State congratulated elected Provincial Executive Committee of ANC
The South African Democratic Teachers' Union in Free State wishes to extend a word of gratitude to the National Leadership of the ANC and the Provincial Task Team for ensuring that the Provincial Conference was finally re-convened (see report).
It is this task team that work tirelessly in ensuring that challenges that led to the nullification of the Conference held in Parys last year were addressed and playing field was levelled and eventually stability was restored.
As SADTU we take this opportunity to thank branches of the ANC for their decisiveness in making their choice of leadership and we respect their decision. Their action confirmed a long motto of the ANC that "Amandla ase masebeni" and it is through these units, the life blood of the movement that we realised that objective. The outcome of the Conference reflects what our Provincial Executive Committee in February 2013 resolved on looking at consistent developments and improvements in Education since the Administration led by Comrade Ace Magashule took office in 2009.
We therefore congratulate the collective leadership that emerged from the Conference and we pledge our full and unreserved support to them.
We are optimistic that the leadership entrusted with this huge responsibility will prioritise unity of members of this glorious movement so that we can be able to focus on mobilising people of this Province to ensure overwhelming victory for ANC in the coming National and Provincial Elections next year. We are further looking forward to the implementation of resolutions taken for bettering the lives of the working class and the poor in this province.
