SAPS must speed up investigation and criminally charge Mofokeng
21 November 2017
Disgraced former Emfuleni Local Municipality Mayor, Simon “sex-pest” Mofokeng might have resigned from his position, but this certainly does not exempt him from facing a criminal investigation.
The South African Police Service (SAPS) must fast-track their investigation into the alleged sexual grooming and abuse by Simon Mofokeng so that he may have his day in court.
The case of the protection order taken out against him by the 14-year-old girl which is still to be heard before court on 28 November, will be the first step towards Mofokeng being criminally charged.
Other allegations of sexual misconduct, sexual grooming and rape have been made against him and this must be investigated as a matter of urgency.
