Simon Molefe's views are his own - ANCYL Gauteng

Lebogang Maile says deputy chairperson's support for Zuma's re-election is not league's position

ANCYL GAUTENG POSITION ON THE COMMENTS ATTRIBUTED TO SIMON MOLEFE (ANCLY GAUTENG DEPUTY CHAIRPERSON) IN THE NEW AGE OF 7 NOVEMBER 2012"

The ANCYL Gauteng Province has noted with concern the comments in the New Age of 7 November 2012 attributed to our Deputy Chairperson, Cde Simon Molefe, suggesting that President Jacob Zuma should be supported for a second term at the forthcoming ANC 53rd National Conference in Mangaung (see here).

Whilst we acknowledge that individuals in the organization are entitled to express their personal views, we wish to state upfront that the position expressed in the New Age is not the collective view of the ANCYL Gauteng Province.

We further note the pronouncement by the ANCYL NEC on its leadership preference and respect that, however, as a structure, we are yet to consolidate our views and will engage the relevant structures to advance our views. We respect the ANC processes and we shall subject ourselves to the discipline of the organisation. We reaffirm our confidence in the leadership collective of the Provincial Executive Committee of the ANC and we call upon on all members who have concerns to raise them within the organisation. Any deviation from these norms, especially un-mandated public pronouncements shall not be tolerated, as such; internal disciplinary processes shall be invoked.
