ANC YOUTH LEAGUE DISGUSTED BY MISLEADING REPORTS IN THE SOWETAN NEWSPAPER:
15 March 2012
The ANC Youth League is disgusted by the dis-information campaign led by the Sowetan Newspaper, which always spread lies and misinformation about what they think are internal dynamics of the ANC Youth League. Almost every day, the Sowetan publishes poorly researched stories under the by-line of Kingdom Mabuza which altogether miss the point about the real character and politics of the ANC Youth League.
In more than one occasion, the Sowetan published misleading stories about the ANC YL, and deliberately referred to the disbanded structure of the ANC YL in KwaZulu Natal as an official PEC, lied that the NEC suspended the Treasurer General and now spreading lies that there are divisions in the organisation.
It is very clear that the Sowetan is publishing these stories with the intentions of sowing divisions in the ANC Youth League about what they deem to be internal differences and dynamics. The ANC YL calls on the Sowetan to stop publishing lies and misleading information and advises Kingdom Mabuza to refuse the usage of his name as a by-line to misleading stories because doing so will undermine his integrity as a person.
Newspapers should concentrate on reporting real stories, and stop spreading lies which they clai are from faceless sources. We take serious exception.
