Western Cape Government receives submissions on Tafelberg property sales
14 June 2016
The Western Cape Government has received numerous submissions following the second round of a public participation process on the proposed sale of property known as the Tafelberg site, in Seapoint. This process is now closed.
This second consultation process arose out of an agreement with interested parties who had not submitted comment during the first phase, to re-open the process. This was made an order of court. The time period for the representations closed on Thursday, 9 June and members of the public have now had a second opportunity to present their submissions to us regarding the proposed sale of the site.
We would like to thank all members of the public who made an effort to participate in the process, which received a high level of public interest. We re-opened the process - a rare occurrence - to ensure that those who still wanted to comment could do so.
Despite repeated requests for comment we have not pre-empted the outcome of this process.
