ActionSA establishes committee to insource cleaning and security personnel at the City of Tshwane
10 July 2023
ActionSA will establish a special committee, headed by ActionSA Gauteng Chairperson Funzi Ngobeni, to prioritise the insourcing of City of Tshwane security and cleaning personnel, in line with our 2021 municipal election promise.
Attending an insourcing meeting with security and cleaning personnel at the City of Tshwane on Saturday, I promised employees that ActionSA will pursue all avenues within the multi-party government to keep to our promise of insourcing within the metropolitan in the coming days.
We believe that the establishment of this special committee, which will have representatives of both cleaning and security personnel as well as the ActionSA City of Tshwane caucus leader Jackie Mathabathe, will help expedite this process.
As mayor of the City of Johannesburg, I witnessed first-hand the dignity insourcing brought to thousands of employees who no longer had to be subjected to the harmful practices of labour brokers. This is why ActionSA remains committed to achieving similar success in the City of Tshwane.
