Tshwane’s residents sold out by ActionSA – DA

Tshwane’s residents sold out by ActionSA

29 August 2024

The City of Tshwane’s residents have been sold out to the EFF and other parties by a now former member of the Tshwane multi-party coalition government, ActionSA.

While the City of Tshwane’s performance has been consistently improving, this attack on the bedrock of a well performing government threatens to halt all the progress that has been made to rescue the capital city from decay.

The refusal by ActionSA to participate in constructive discussions with the Executive Mayor of the City of Tshwane, Cilliers Brink, as well as their failure to register their now evident frustration with the coalition government’s partners, makes it clear that they have now bowed out of the very same agreement that ensured Tshwane’s turnaround.

The people of Tshwane and our coalition partners have been betrayed by an ostensibly power-hungry party who aims to put the capital city on the same track as the other metropolitan municipalities in Gauteng; Ekurhuleni and Johannesburg.

We are of the firm belief that breaking a government down that has successfully been rebuilding the City of Tshwane is a clear indication of the parties’ priorities, and deeply rooted self-interest.

The DA will continue to fight for the residents of Tshwane, while other parties put cheap political ploys above the needs of residents.
