League says BDP govt is a security threat to Africa and a foot stool of imperialism
ANC YOUTH LEAGUE 24TH NATIONAL CONGRESS NATIONAL 1ST EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE STATEMENT.
31 July 2011
The African National Congress Youth League 1st National Executive Committee since the 24th National Congress happened between the 29th and 31st of July 2011 at the Airport Grand Hotel, Boksburg in Ekurhuleni, Gauteng Province. The NEC was addressed by Comrades Kgalema Motlanthe, Fikile Mbalula, Cyril Ramaphosa, Joel Netshitendzhe, Thulas Nxesi, Duma Gqubule and Chris Malikane on various topical issues.
These topical issues included, but not limited to presentations and discussions on 1) Negotiations, CODESA and the Sunset Clauses, 2) Land and Agrarian Reform, 3) The National Democratic Revolution, 4) Case studies on Nationalisation of Mines, and Free Education, and 5) Decentralised Industrial Development.
The presentations and deliberations consolidated, inspired and agitated our 24th National Congress resolve and determination to fight tirelessly for the realisation of economic freedom in our lifetime, particularly Nationalisation of Mines, Expropriation of Land without compensation and provision of free quality education.
The ANC YL is inspired by the fact that all leaders of the ANC who addressed the meeting applauded the Youth League for taking up the struggles for economic freedom in our lifetime and calling for nationalisation of Mines and expropriation without compensation.

The ANC Youth League's interpretation of the transition period pre and post democracy is that certain compromises had to be made by the National Liberation Movement in order to consolidate political power and freedom. Now that the balance of forces has shifted in favour of the forces of change, there is a need to re-route the struggle for total economic emancipation of the people of South Africa through implementation of all freedom charter objectives.
On all these issues, the NEC emphasised the need to re-orientate the ANC into being a fighting force for total economic liberation, mass based, progressive internationalist, anti-imperialist movement. The ANC Youth League will approach individual leaders of the ANC to engage them about the programme for economic freedom in our lifetime, with the intention of convincing them on the need for decisive economic transformation in South Africa.
The ANC YL takes this approach because of our understanding and lesion that in any revolution, both objective and subjective realities determine the intensity and direction of the strategies and tactics adopted to realise the set strategic objectives of the National Democratic Revolution.
The NEC applauded the efforts of the 23rd National Congress NEC for convening a very successful 24th National Congress, which consolidated a clear programme of action for economic freedom in our lifetime. The NEC finalised and stamped the resolutions of the 24th National Congress, which will be distributed to all branches of the ANC Youth League, alliance formations and all sectors of society including trade unions, business, churches and civil society formations.

The NEC will visit all provinces to have report-back sessions and seminars where congress resolutions will be presented to branches of the ANC YL, ANC and all fraternal organisations. The NEC will further have bi-lateral meetings and engagements with COSATU and its affiliates, SACP, SANCO, representatives of big-business on all sectors, and civil society formations.
On the international front, the ANC Youth League NEC expressed concern about the decline of regional and continental formations, SADC, and the African Union, particularly since the departure of President Thabo Mbeki in the space of African leadership.
The ANC YL is of the view that there is a vacuum on the ideological and political leadership of Africa and the sub-regions, and this is reflected by how the issues of Libya and Ivory Coast were mishandled. The ANC Youth League will soon convene progressive youth formations across SADC and ultimately Africa to re-assert the need for Africa's independence, sovereignty, and economic freedom.
The ANC Youth League will also establish a Botswana Command Team which will work towards uniting all oppositional forces in Botswana to oppose the puppet regime of Botswana led by the Botswana Democratic Party. The BDP led Botswana is a foot stool of imperialism, a security threat to Africa and always under constant puppetry of the United States.

The NEC has noticed the desperate attempts of the media to divert attention of the ANC Youth League by bringing all sorts of allegations and casting aspersions on the President of the ANC YL, Cde Julius Malema. The NEC is fully behind President Julius Malema and will never be diverted by reactionary media. The ANC Youth League will from now on, not entertain issues that that relate to the personal life of ANC Youth League President, because it does not form part of the agenda.
ANC YOUTH LEAGUE NWC, COMMITTEES AND DEPLOYMENT TO PROVINCES:
