WCape legislature should retract Malusi Gigaba's summons - Marius Fransman

ANC provincial leader says speaker Sharna Fernandez should also apologise in writing to the minister

DA must retract summons & apologise

The DA's illegal and bully summons to Home Affairs Minister Malusi Gigaba must immediately be withdrawn and the DA's Western Cape provincial legislature speaker Sharna Fernandez must apologise in writing to Gigaba.

The ANC Western Cape also calls on DA leader Helen Zille to denounce these tactics to embarrass and treat ANC leaders like criminals or come out to say she is actually behind these vexatious actions.

The ANC Western Cape leader of the opposition Marius Fransman says: "The DA speaker must stop the present witch-hunt summons issued by her that only shows how the DA abuse the legislature for petty party political point scoring. The DA would do better to rather concentrate on improving inferior service delivery to the poor in the Western Cape than to personally pursue ANC leaders.

"The DA furthermore shows that it does not trust its complement in the National Assembly to deal with the issues around migration - which is an exclusive national competency - where it belongs in the national Parliament. They must take migration and national issues there and engage ministers at that level."

The ANC says the DA must first fix its deliberate mistake of issuing an illegal summons to Gigaba before it tries to do anything else. The DA should also stop to cloud the matter with other issues in an obvious attempt to deflect attention away from their own blunders.
