Minister Robin Carlisle says response has been phenomenal, 98% support for campaign

MINISTER CARLISLE RELEASES SECOND ROUND OF CRASH WITNESS CAMPAIGN VIDEOS

Western Cape Minister of Transport and Public Works Robin Carlisle has released the second round of Crash Witness Campaign videos, which can be viewed at safelyhome.westerncape.gov.za.

Minister Carlisle's Safely Home Campaign got a boost last week with the launch of the Crash Witness Campaign.

Crash Witness brings real CCTV footage of road traffic crashes to the public via safelyhome.westerncape.gov.za, Safely Home's official website.

More than 25 000 people visited the site to watch the videos following last week's launch. This resulted in another type of "traffic crash" and the videos were moved to YouTube, where they have been watched more than 40 000 times.

‘The response from the public, in emails sent to us at [email protected], and comments made on our website, has been phenomenal and 98% positive in support of the campaign,' said Carlisle.

‘We are considering extending the campaign beyond the Festive Season.'

Anyone intending to view the videos is reminded that they are adults only and contain graphic content.
