We don't have time for petty ping pong games with the SACP - - NUMSA

NOBs says they stand by every word of their press statement of December 3

BRIEF NUMSA NATIONAL OFFICE BEARERS REPLY TO THE SACP STATEMENT ISSUED ON DECEMBER 05, 2013

December 06, 2013

The National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (Numsa) is a trade union that takes itself very seriously and therefore does not have time for ping pong games or childish play.

The plight of the South African working class is just too grave to leave it in the hands of forces that have become embedded in the South African Capitalist State.

We want to confirm that as the Numsa National Office Bearers, we stand by every word and sentence of our press statement of Tuesday 3rd December 2013.

We are representing the material class interests of our members by advancing an agenda that is in the interests of the working class and the poor as a whole.

We at Numsa refuse to conceal our views. We are ready to be engaged with any individual or organisation, on any of the matters we raise in the public domain. However, we refuse to be coopted to any agenda that seeks to isolate and destroy our leadership.

We refuse to lower our integrity by being forced into some mud-slinging, scandal mongering and desperate personalization of what are serious political issues by any quarters.

For now, our priority is our Special National Congress in which we will debate and resove on the key issues confronting us for advancing the interests of our members and the broader working class.
