Week of Action for Democracy in Swaziland starts tomorrow – COSATU

Trade union federation planning massive pickets at border posts

COSATU unleashes the Global Week of Action for Democracy in Swaziland tomorrow

The Congress of South African Trade Unions will tomorrow, the 09th  September 2015 unleash a massive picket at the Swaziland border posts of Matsamo and Oshoek as the Global Week of Action for democracy in Swaziland resumes.

The picket will be attended by Alliance structures and all Swaziland progressive organizations.

COSATU fully supports the call by the working class people of Swaziland that a precondition for a genuine dialogue to a democratic Swaziland is that the Tinkundla regime should concede to promoting freedom of association for all its citizens.

COSATU during the occasion of the Global Week of Action on Swaziland demand;

The immediate unbanning of all political parties in Swaziland

The immediate and unconditional release of political prisoners

The creation of a conducive environment for the unconditional return of all those who have been forced into exile and also

The abolishing of the Tinkundla system of governance and replace it with a multi-party transitional government to prepare for the election of the government of the people by the people

COSATU invites the media to come and cover the event.
