Johannesburg – While South Africans are still reeling from recent public spats surrounding Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan and the Treasury, he will be joining President Jacob Zuma at a G20 meeting in China next week.
Public spats between Gordhan and the Hawks, Eskom and Denel, along with rumours of a stand-off between the Treasury and the Presidency over SAA, have dominated newspapers in recent weeks.
Zuma and Gordhan - along with International Relations and Co-operation Minister Maite Nkoana-Mashabane, Trade and Industry Minister Rob Davies and the Deputy Transport Minister Sindisiwe Chikunga - will represent South Africa among 18 other countries in discussions on trade, investments and global governance.
According to a statement from the Presidency, the country’s strategy is outreach to Africa, as well as development.
