DA to refute legal position taken by NPA and President Zuma
The DA considers the notice filed today by President Zuma's lawyers with great consternation. What this notice seems to imply is that President Zuma will now dispute the meaning of what the Supreme Court of Appeal ordered the NPA to produce.
The court order of the SCA could not be clearer if it tried. It states that the NPA is required to hand over:
"the reduced record of documents and materials relevant to the review, including documents before the first respondent when making the decision and any documents informing such decision"
The DA will be filing papers refuting the position taken by the NPA and President Zuma.
What President Zuma is clearly trying to do is to delay handing over the transcript of the tapes until the Mangaung Conference is over. What is Zuma trying to hide?
