"How Pastor lied for sex!" - Daily Sun

The front page and lead story of SA's largest daily newspaper, July 30 2013

Daily Sun (July 30 2013) - THE woman thought God had answered her prayers when her pastor lover signed a vow to marry her. But the pastor was a liar! NOT ONLY DID SHE FIND HIM IN A BROTHEL, SHE ALSO HEARD HE WAS ALREADY MARRIED!

In a formal commitment written in Tumi Megalane's diary, Pastor Ronny Mokoena (37) wrote: "Ronny and Tumi agree to marry in 2015." The note went on to say: "We agree to have sex until we get married formally."

And it ended with the threat of punishment: "Anybody who breaks this agreement will be held accountable by the court of law." What the line means and which court of law will take the note seriously, is not explained. But poor Tumi, excited about a future promise of love and marriage, went ahead and jumped into bed with smooth-talking Ronny anyway . . . until she found out the horrible truth.

"I was a fool to trust a man who told me that he was single and willing to marry me," 32-year-old Tumi from extension 11 in Soshanguve, Tshwane, told Daily Sun. The two met at a church conference. "He told me he loved me and wanted to marry me on the day we met," said Tumi.

"I would spend the week at his house while his wife was at work in Joburg. This started in April this year and I knew nothing about him being married."

She said she realised on Sunday that he was married and wouldn't leave his wife. "I discovered this when I found him at a well-known brothel in Pretoria where he was sleeping with a prostitute," she said. "When I asked him what he was doing there he told me even his wife doesn't ask him what he does and where he goes!"

She spoke to a member of his church who confirmed that Ronny is a married man.

"I was heartbroken. I wanted to go to his house to break the windows and smash everything inside but the pastor at my own church warned me not to do that," she said.

Tumi attended Ronny's church, and his wife said Ronny had told her that Tumi was a prophet who was helping him with spiritual guidance.

Tumi said the elders of the church have arranged to meet with the board next weekend so that the pastor could apologise for lying to Tumi and his wife.

"This man only wanted to sleep with me because his wife was working far from home. People must know he is a liar," she said.

Daily Sun spoke to pastor Ronny of the Acts of Spirits church. The pastor - who has a four-month-old baby - confirmed that he knew Tumi.

"But I don't want to comment further. I know there are Satanists who want to destroy me," he said.

"I don't want to appear in the paper on negative things so you can write what she told you and leave me alone. This will not help my congregation. It will destroy it."
