Statement on the frivolous court challenge brought by racist right-wing organisation against party leader in parliament
5 September 2024
Today, Thursday the 5th and Friday the 6th of September, a Full Bench of three Judges in the Western Cape High Court will hear the challenge of the appointment to the Judicial Services Commission of MK Party Leader in Parliament Dr. Mandlakayise Hlophe. This frivolous challenge was brought by various right wing and racist organisations such as the Democratic Alliance, Freedom Under Law and Corruption Watch. The racist vanguard of Afrikaner Settler interests Afriforum has brought a separate challenge in the Constitutional Court.
The clear intention of these organisations is to flood the courts and to waste the resources of the MK Party in an attempt to shift our focus from the task of liberating Africans, the poor and marginalised.
There can be no legal basis for the court to reverse a decision democratically taken by the elected representatives of the people of South Africa. The time has come for the courts to put a stop to this kind of political harassment of the MK Party and its leaders, while abusing the machinery of the justice system
