EFF and ANC attempt to destabilise coalition in Tshwane – FF Plus

Party in process of preparing a number of complaints against councillors after they stormed Tshwane House

EFF violates all constraints on a registered political party with occupation of Tshwane House

16 February 2023

The FF Plus is in the process of preparing a number of complaints against EFF councillors from the Tshwane Metro Council after they stormed Tshwane House earlier today and manhandled staff members.

The EFF councillors, spurred on by ANC councillors, prevented the drivers of Members of the Mayoral Committee from performing their duties and shoved around Mr Jordan Griffin, the Metro's chief of staff.

Councillors and staff members were also prevented from leaving the building.

The EFF and ANC are attempting to destabilise the multiparty coalition in the Tshwane Metro, of which the FF Plus is part, after the resignation of the Executive Mayor, Mr Randall Williams.

The EFF is increasingly violating the ethical codes of conduct that any political party registered with the IEC must adhere to.

The FF Plus is currently consulting to lodge criminal complaints against the relevant members with the police, and to request an investigation from the Gauteng MEC for Local Governance and Traditional Affairs, Mzi Khumalo.

After the EFF's violent conduct during the recent SONA, when they stormed the stage on which President Cyril Ramaphosa was delivering his speech, and today's events at Tshwane House, it appears as if the EFF has no political capital left apart from acting as a terror organisation.

The FF Plus will see to it that the Executive Authority and law-enforcement agencies take steps against the relevant councillors, and challenges the EFF leadership to officially take a stance with regard to its members' conduct.
