Daily Sun (July 28 2015) - CELEBS and fans of much loved Mzansi hip hop DJ and Club 808 producer C-Live were desperate yesterday. They wanted to know if the rumours were true – that the young star and his son were struck by a terrible tragedy.
THEN LATE YESTERDAY, IT WAS CONFIRMED. C-LIVE WAS BURNED IN A HOUSE FIRE THAT KILLED HIS SON!
It happened on Monday morning. C-Live, whose real name is Clive Shabalala, is currently in hospital in Jozi recovering from a fire that stole his son’s life. Althought details at this point are extremely sketchy, the People’s Paper understands that the fire allegedly started in his son’s bedroom.
C-Live tried desperately to reach his young son to save him from the flames.In the process he also sustained severe burn injuries. His arms were the worst hit and he is currently recovering in a hospital burns unit.
Monde Twala, MD of e.tv channels division, confirmed the tragedy. He said: “C-Live is the content producer for Club 808. “We are devastated to learn of his injury and the tragic loss of this son.
“We wish him all strength through this period. Our thoughts are with Clive and family during this difficult time. We hope that he makes a speedy recovery.”
A source close to Daily Sun said: “What happened is extremely tragic. C-Live loved his child. He had moved in with him this year and was taking care of him. He could hear his son crying and tried to save him but he could not. “No parent should have to bury a child. Not someone who is a great father like Clive. This is not fair.”
Another source added that Clive was an amazing father. “I know for sure that this will shatter him, as it has all of us. We are not too sure about the details and we are waiting for his family to say something. “He lost everything in the fire.”
Many celebrities sent their heartfelt condolences via social media.
