"I want to kill my dad!" - Daily Sun

The front page and lead story of SA's largest daily newspaper, February 13 2014

Daily Sun (February 13 2014) - He says a woman devil came to him in a dream and told him that was the way to make a lot of money.

BUT HIS EVIL OBSESSION HAS SHOCKED HIS FAMILY AND NEIGHBOURS, WHO ARE APPEALING FOR HELP.

The boy from a village in Limpopo prays every day over a concoction of muthi in the belief that his mission will be successful. The muthi includes a chicken's head and feet, two sticks, a candle, a picture of a white woman, bricks with numbers written on them, bottles of muthi and a picture of his father.

His father lives and works in Joburg.

"I have told him that I plan to kill him," said the boy yesterday. "But he didn't take me seriously."

But his aunt, who has raised him since his mother died, is worried. She asked Daily Sun not to be identified.

"I suspected something was wrong when I saw my nephew performing black magic in the street.

"I wasn't surprised because I knew he had spiritual power inside him. Once he swallowed 10c and spat it out as a R1 coin.

"But we were shocked on Monday when he told us he had built an altar in his room with bottles of muthi, chains, bricks and stuff," said the aunt.

"We reported everything to the tribal authority and also warned local villagers."

Why is he so determined to kill his dad?

The teenager, who is in grade 7, told Daily Sun: "An old woman came to me in a dream and said she was Lucifer. She told me to kill my father so that I can be super-rich.

"She instructed me to kill a chicken, cut off the head and feet and tie it around a picture of my father," he said.

"Then I must pierce a needle into the head of the chicken through my father's head in the picture."

"Another needle must be pierced through the chicken's feet into the feet of my father in the picture."

He told us he performs the ritual three times a day and prays to Lucifer.

"When I pray I say: Lucifer, I pray to you. Wherever my father is, let him die so I can be rich. I repeat this many times."

Enos Khombo (52) from the local tribal authority told Daily Sun: "We are appealing to anyone out there, either a prophet or inyanga, to come and help this boy out of his misery.

"We need someone with strong spiritual power to disconnect him from this evil spirit."

He also urged residents to rally round and help the boy.

) Pastor Daniel Mogotlane said if the boy went to Gauteng, where his father was, "something horrible may happen. The devil can give super powers to do amazing things," he said.

) Sangoma Mandla Mngwazi said the boy was clearly possessed by "strong" Satanic demons and needed help.

)  Daily Sun made several attempts to contact the boy's dad, without success.
