Daily Sun (August 6 2015) - TIMOTHY LIVES in a squatter camp and he sleeps under plastic on the hard ground.
But one day, he may live like a king.
UNTIL THEN HIS KASI FRIENDS CALL HIM THE SQUATTER CAMP MILLIONAIRE.
“I should have all this money but I live with them and drink takunyisa instead of expensive whisky,” said Timothy Mkhabela, who lives at the side of the road in Sundra, Delmas, Mpumalanga.
Life is hard for Timothy, who was injured when he was run over by a car in 2010. He stayed in hospital for over six months and doctors had to amputate his right leg above the knee.
After he was discharged, a Good Samaritan, Tinny Simelane took him in and since then he has been doing everything he can to help Timothy get his money. “We used Manie Bothma, a lawyer from Brakpan, but after the Road Accident Fund paid out the money, the lawyer no longer wanted anyone else to come with Timothy to his office,” claimed Tinny. “He would not let him have an interpreter as before.”
