EFF calls on ANC to pay back the SSA money used for their 2017 conference

29 January 2021

The EFF calls on the ANC to pay back the R19 million SSA money used to pay for their 2017 Elective Conference. According to a witness at the State Capture Commission, the ANC conference unduly received R19 million for its conference. This means the conference that elected Ramaphosa as president of the ANC was sponsored with stolen money from government.

It is impossible that Ramaphosa, who was deputy president of both the country and the ANC did not know about this money. If he did not know, then he must immediately facilitate a process for the return of each and every cent stolen.

The SSA money is meant to fund programs meant to guarantee state security and national stability. Amongst others, they should be used to crack down those involved in the systematic vandalism of schools in 2020. The infamous burning of schools in the Vhembe district, the burning of trucks on the N3 or generate intelligence products in relations to any destabilisation of electricity, water and general basic services. Instead, funds were redirected to fund the ANC elective conference that has nothing to do with generation of intelligence products.

The ANC abused secrete and intelligence legislation, taking advantage of the secrecy related to SSA, to abuse and squander taxpayers' money.

If needs be, the ANC's Luthuli House must be attached, auctioned and sold to recover all the R19 million stolen from SSA.
