ANCYL condemns "rascals and thugs" at Sunday Times

Youth League wants front page apology for report about Julius Malema remarks

ANC YL CONDEMNS SUNDAY TIMES THUGS AND RASCALS FOR THEIR DELIBERATE LIES AND DANGEROUS DISTORTIONS.

The African National Congress Youth League condemns the rascals and thugs who are hiding as Journalists and Editors of Sunday Times Newspaper for the deliberate distortion of ANC YL President Julius Malema. In their front page report, the Sunday Times deliberately tells lies about what the President of the ANC YL said when addressing the ANC YL Rally in Cator Manor, KwaZulu Natal. Even the audio which they direct listeners to open in their website does not say anything they claim ANC YL President

The Sunday Times claims that President Julius Malema said that IFP leader Mangosuthu Buthelezi is a "Mickey Mouse". Never in the address, did ANC YL President refer to Mr. Buthelezi RASCALS "Mickey Mouse", he instead said KwaZulu Natal is home of the ANC and not of "Mickey Mouse" political organisations. This was never intended on any particular leader of opposition political parties, yet the Sunday Times rascals choose to tell deliberate lies and choose to direct the remarks to Mangosuthu Buthelezi. The Sunday Times should be aware of the sensitivities involved in making such a claim, and we will do everything in our power to make sure that they are brought to book.

In telling their lies, the Sunday Times chooses to refer listeners to the Website, knowing very well that many people in South Africa don't have access to the Internet. The Sunday Times should stop their campaign against the ANC and ANC YL President Julius Malema, particularly if they still define themselves a public Newspaper. The ANC YL understands that the Sunday Times is becoming a Newsletter of opposition parties, yet telling deliberate and sensitive lies should always be avoided. We demand an immediate front page retraction and apology from the Sunday Times (Opposition Political parties Newsletter).
