ANCYL KZN appalled by outburst from former leaders

Vukani Ndlovu says Sboniso Duma is no longer league's provincial secretary

STATEMENT OF THE ANCYL PROVINCIAL TASK TEAM ON THE OUTBURSTS OF SOME MEMBERS OF THE DISBANDED PEC

28 February 2012

The ANCYL in KZN is appalled by the outbursts of former leaders of the PEC in KZN on matters relating to the organisation of which they have no knowledge nor participation (see report). The ANCYL in KZN wants to make it categorically clear the the current serving PTT of the ANCYL in KZN has been reaffirmed by the ANC in the Province and Nationally.

It therefore does not hold for uncle Sboniso Duma to continue to see himself in his own mirror as a Deputy Secretary in the province which is a clear defiance of a organizational decision taken through constitutional structures of the organization.

It is further critical to note that this absolute disrespect for organizational democracy is very concerning and in fact ambitious in it's very nature. There is indeed no one above the ANC or ANCYL and this includes uncle Sboniso Duma with his cronies who infact are the ones behaving like mobsters and cowboys in this Province.

The ANCYL in KZN further reaffirms the motion of no confidence passed on Cde Jomo Sibiya as a matter that belongs to a Region not the disbanded PEC.

It must further be noted that it most concerning that members of the ANCYL reduce themselves to actions that demonstrate absolute lack of cadre development in light of their understanding of the current disciplinary action against the leadership of the ANCYL, in terms of the resolutions in which they had fully participated, supported and leadership they had elected it is indeed a lack of political maturity which needs a serious political education.

Such actions of desperation to betray a mandate of Congress of which they had fully participated is an indication of their lack of organizational understanding, discipline and cadreship and an act of desperation for media attention which is only concerned about their own interest and not of the poor and the unemployed youth of KZN.

The ANCYL in KZN reaffirms that indeed, we will forever support the leadership of the ANCYL, and reaffirm that President Julius Malema remains the President of the ANCYL till 2014. At no point will we retreat on the democratically elected leadership of the ANCYL.

The ANCYL in KZN takes exception to the calling of the leadership of the ANCYL as mobsters this is rejected by the ANCYL in KZN, and call upon our membership, branches and regions to remain firm, intact and resolute against such oppurtunists, hooliganism, chief lobbysts and desperados who have reduced themselves to a brigade of reactionaries.

On leadership of the ANC towards Provincial congress it is our view that branches and regions of the ANCYL must start engaging on this matter as a principle and their right to do so, which will be consolidated at a later stage not imposed to them like these former leaders have done undermining the capacity of branches and regions.

We want to assure you that we remain the only voice of the youth in this province and want to assure you that the mandate given to us by the NEC to take the ANCYL in the province to congress will be fulfilled before June.
