But the legendary gospel star wants his fans to know that he is alive and recovering after his near-fatal car crash.
"PLEASE DON'T DROWN THE BIG FISH ON SOCIAL MEDIA!" IS THE CALL FROM HIS FAMILY.
Family spokesman Johan Sibiya told Daily Sun: "He is in intensive care but he is recovering. He is still in pain but he is able to move and see. I was with him on Sunday. He held my hand and cried, so I know that he is going to be okay." Johan said that the doctor said Sipho will be taken out of ICU this week. "A therapist will also start working with him so that he can get over the shock," he said.
Gospel star Sipho Makhabane, who is loved by his many fans, has been recovering at Life Midmed Hospital in Middelburg, Mpumalanga after he sustained serious head injuries in a car accident a week ago. He was scheduled to perform at a church service in Delmas.
Johan said Sipho sustained serious head injuries but he is thankful that his skull wasn't fractured.
"The family is hopeful that he will fight on and be at home with his family very soon," said Johan. He said they have received many good wishes from people of all faiths and cultures. Gospel singer Thinah Zungu said he has hated reading that people are saying one of his biggest heroes had died.
Jabu Hlongwane of Joyous Celebration told Daily Sun: "Sipho is like my biological brother. I am happy he is recovering well. He is always ready to help other musicians."
Many people on social media have been saying that the singer/producer and founder of Big Fish Music had passed away.
