DA retains ward 21 Stellenbosch

The DA is very pleased to announce that we have retained ward 21 in Stellenbosch, following today's by-election.

This victory ensures that the ward remains in capable hands and that the new ward councillor will build on the success of clean governance and excellent service delivery.

The results of today’s by-election are as follows:

DA – 72.57% - 1386 VOTES
ANC – 0.68% - 13 VOTES
EFF – 0.47% - 9 VOTES
ACDP – 16.28% - 311 VOTES
GOOD – 4.08% - 78 VOTES
INDEP – 5.92% - 113 VOTES
% Poll – 37.71%

We wish to congratulate the newly elected DA ward councillor, Mynard Slabbert, on his victory. Mynard will join a well established team of DA councillors under the leadership of Stellenbosch Mayor, Gesie van Deventer.

We wish to also thank the voters of ward 21 who have again put their trust in the DA, the only party that gets things done.
