De Ruyter interview confirms ActionSA’s suspicions that Eskom exists for ANC officials “to eat” from state coffers

The admission by outgoing Eskom CEO, Andre de Ruyter, that an ANC Minister approved that a portion of the $8.5 billion Just Transition Agreement be used to allow “some people to eat” vindicates ActionSA and South African’s position that the ANC is a criminal syndicate that exists only to line its own pockets.
During a damning interview with journalist Annika Larsen on eTV, De Ruyter said that he raised concerns to a “senior government minister” that governance around the $8.5 billion agreement with the United States, European Union and others was being watered down.
De Ruyter said: “And the response was, essentially, you know you have to be pragmatic, you have to, in order to pursue the greater good you have to enable some people to eat a little bit.”
In the interview, De Ruyter also said that “the evidence suggests” that Eskom is a feeding trough for the ANC and that South Africa will likely face stage 6 load shedding during winter or “maybe worse”.
