De Ruyter confirms ANC a criminal syndicate – Herman Mashaba

Eskom CEO's interview corroborates ActionSA’s suspicions that Eskom exists for ANC officials “to eat” from state coffers

De Ruyter interview confirms ActionSA’s suspicions that Eskom exists for ANC officials “to eat” from state coffers

The admission by outgoing Eskom CEO, Andre de Ruyter, that an ANC Minister approved that a portion of the $8.5 billion Just Transition Agreement be used to allow “some people to eat” vindicates ActionSA and South African’s position that the ANC is a criminal syndicate that exists only to line its own pockets.

During a damning interview with journalist Annika Larsen on eTV, De Ruyter said that he raised concerns to a “senior government minister” that governance around the $8.5 billion agreement with the United States, European Union and others was being watered down.

De Ruyter said: “And the response was, essentially, you know you have to be pragmatic, you have to, in order to pursue the greater good you have to enable some people to eat a little bit.”

In the interview, De Ruyter also said that “the evidence suggests” that Eskom is a feeding trough for the ANC and that South Africa will likely face stage 6 load shedding during winter or “maybe worse”.

De Ruyter’s comments reaffirm ActionSA’s belief that the ANC exists for the sole purpose of enriching itself and its own officials, while allowing the rest of ordinary South Africans to suffer.

No amount of rehabilitation or musical chairs of its leadership will ever be able to change the entrenched corruption in the ANC, and no political party should therefore be deceived to think that it can be in coalition with the ANC for the best interest of South Africa.

ActionSA is firm in its commitment that it will never go into coalition with the ANC, and will do everything in its power to remove the ANC from the government in the 2024 elections.

A better, more prosperous South Africa is possible, where sustained economic growth is achieved that creates millions of jobs and improves the lives of our people, and that will be achieved when ActionSA leads a coalition government, and the ANC is consigned to the dustbin of history.
