Marius Fransman, please speak the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth
Both Marius Fransman en Pierre Uys took the following Oath of Office as Provincial MEC's in the cabinet of Ebrahim Rasool at the time:
"I... swear that I will be faithful to the Republic of South Africa and the Province of the Western Cape and will obey, respect and uphold the National Constitution, the Provincial Constitution and all other law of the Republic, and I undertake to hold my office as Provincial Minister of the Western Cape with honour and dignity, to be a true and faithful counsellor, not to divulge directly or indirectly any secret matter entrusted to me; and to perform the functions of my office conscientiously and to the best of my ability."
Today Marius Fransman and Pierre Uys have shown their true colours. As is typical of Zuma's ANC, the two refused to answer questions this morning in the Provincial SCOPA committee. The committee was seeking answers to the millions spent on consultants during the ANC's time in office in Western Cape. It turns out that of the 31 contracts the Western Cape government has with consultants, 29 were signed by the ANC while they were in government.
ANC leaders are yet again refusing to allow proper processes to follow through and get to the bottom of this issue. They know that their past actions are corrupt and they are now trying to hide it.
By first refusing to take the oath and then walking out of a meeting of the provincial standing committee on public accounts (SCOPA) this morning, the ANC's Marius Fransman and Pierre Uys once again proved that Zuma's ANC is unwilling to accept any accountability for corruption and maladministration.
