I'm not plotting against Zuma leadership - Senzo Mchunu

ANC KZN PEC member distances himself any discussions with Tokyo Sexwale

Mchunu Responds to Media Reports

I have noted with grave concern the continued publication of stories linking me to the discussions in the lead-up to the Mangaung Elective Conference.

It has been widely reported that I am part of a group that is challenging the current African National Congress' national top six under the leadership of Comrade Jacob Zuma.

I want to state categorically that I distance myself from any such discussions with Cde Tokyo Sexwale or any other person pertaining to the list or any matters relating to the National Conference of the ANC to be held later this year.

These persistent reports smack of a well-crafted campaign aimed at destabilizing the ANC in KwaZulu Natal thereby creating doubt and mistrust both within the leadership and membership, in general.

I am convinced that KwaZulu Natal stands united, under one leadership and acts as a collective. The evidence of this unity has recently been demonstrated during regional conferences and the Provincial Conference that was concluded last week. Comrade Zuma even commended our province for its maturity during his keynote address at the Conference.

I wish to urge our fellow comrades to be vigilant and be on the lookout for any members who continue to peddle lies that are hell-bent on creating divisions within the organization.
