Absa Chairperson Gill Marcus paid a courtesy visit to the Minister of Finance to advise him that the current Absa Group Chief Executive, Dr Steve Booysen , would be stepping down at the end of February 2009, and of the appointment of his successor, Ms Maria Ramos.  The courtesy call took place at the venue of the ANC's NEC meeting as that was where the Minister was. There was no disclosure of privileged information to the National Executive Committee.
