Municipality’s failure to pay employees condemned – EFF Limpopo

Fighters view this situation as a gross injustice that demands immediate attention

EFF Limpopo statement on Thabazimbi Local Municipality’s failure to pay its employees and councillors

26 June 2024

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in Limpopo strongly condemns the persistent failure of the DA ran municipality to pay its workers as well as councillors at Thabazimbi Local Municipality, as this is yet another example of why they cannot be trusted with fiscal management. We are particularly critical of Rabelani Tshiswaise, who went from being a manager in Spatial Planning and Land use Management to an illegitimate Acting Municipal Manager overnight. The EFF views this situation as a gross injustice that demands immediate attention. It is unacceptable that dedicated public servants are being denied their rightful compensation for their hard work and dedication.

The EFF urgently demands that the appropriate authorities conduct a comprehensive investigation into this issue, ensure the immediate settlement of all outstanding payments, and take decisive actions to prevent similar occurrences in the future.

The livelihoods of all workers, councillors, and their families are on the line. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that their rights are respected and protected.

must work together to build a more just and equitable society for all.

Unfortunately, we are greatly concerned about the impending collapse Of Thabazimbi Local Municipality.
